Metamaterials use structural design to achieve functional leaps and significantly reduce the dependence on material types and properties. They are an important branch of advanced materials. The field of local resonance acoustic metamaterials was pioneered by Professor Yang Zhiyu and his two colleagues in the Department of Physics of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. They have led the world for more than 20 years and have built a solid and thorough intellectual property barrier.
Under the personal leadership of Professor Yang, Tranquility Acoustronics has overcome the large technological span between metamaterials principles and practical applications. It has successfully developed a technology platform consists of (1) lightweight sound insulation panels, (2) ventilation silencers, and(3) low-frequency miniature vibration dampers. These three series of industrial products are at least several years ahead of the world’s major competitors
Based on the actual needs of customers and the characteristics of noise sources, and using onsite measured data and theoretical simulations, Tranquility Acoustronics tailors design the solution plans and provides the key components of acoustic metamaterials that are easy to install and reasonably priced. The sound insulation and ventilation size (if necessary) set in the plan will enable the treated site to meet the Class A environmental protection standards in any nations.
